The narrative around parenting, children, and the bond between parents and their offspring transcends cultures, encapsulating social security, compassion, dependence, and family values. In the mosaic of global societies, parenting styles and how adult children care for their parents differ significantly, shaped by deep-rooted cultural norms.

In America, individualism is highly valued, often giving rise to a lifestyle where independence is encouraged from an early age. When children reach adulthood, it is commonplace to leave the parental home, symbolizing a rite of passage into self-reliance. This pursuit of independence can sometimes create conflict between family closeness and societal expectations of autonomy. Married life in America, for many, begins in a new home with their spouse, separate from their parents, representing a new family unit.
