The controversy around Single-payer is not a subject I can explain in one paragraph. However, I have tried to put the pieces together throughout over 500 writeups. Single-payer requires special constitutional and sociopolitical preparation to work. I am not necessarily against Single-payer. What I am against- is to build a system on a "constitutional base" that is not accommodating for full government ownership of the country, something which the US needs to accept. PS. Single-payer or Government-run system requires a "uniform" Populus norms and mindset. And as we know, the US is not even close to that scenario. Yet most European countries that historically enjoyed a uniform cultural mindset are becoming diversified through immigration and internet expansion. Even the latter countries have not handled it the way some politicians in US are trying to convey. All in all Healthcare in the world is a big "healthcare mess", but US healthcare is a "political mess"!
